The “Lab 3D” team of the Department of Computer Science of the Lublin University of Technology carries out 3D scanning of historical liturgical vestments belonging to the collection of the Archdiocesan Museum of Religious Art in Lublin and the John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin (KUL) Museum.
3D scanning is carried out by a team led by prof. Jerzy Montusiewicz and supervised by the director of the KUL Museum – prof. Agnieszka Bender and the director of the Archdiocesan Museum – Fr. Łukasz Trzciński. Also participating in the scanning: prof. Marek Miłosz, doctors Jacek Kęsik, Marcin Barszcz and Marcin Badurowicz, and Anna Sałamacha. Additionally, the team is supported by museum professionals: Anna Szlązak-Nowak (Museum of the Catholic University of Lublin) and Jagoda Maryjewska (Archdiocesan Museum).
Project participants plan joint scientific publications in journals and conference presentations. In addition, digital 3D models will be made available to researchers (art historians, liturgists, etc.) and on the website https://polishheritage3d.pl in an “for everyone” version.
