1st scientific expedition to the US October 9-23, 2022

The first scientific expedition to the US, carried out as part of the project, operated in Chicago and Milwaukee on October 9-23, 2022.

As part of the expedition, a team of scientists conducted research in 6 church buildings built by the Polish community in the US. A team of IT specialists conducted a 3D scan, and a team of historians obtained historical data of the following objects:

Basilica of St. Jack in Chicago,
Holy Trinity Church in Chicago,
Church of St. Stanislaus Bishop and Martyr in Milwaukee,
Church of St. Stanisław Kostka in Chicago,
Church of St. Hedwig in Chicago,
Church of St. Michael the Archangel in Chicago (closed – intended for liquidation/sale).

In addition, the team met with the management and teachers of the Polish Sunday school operating at the parish of St. Trinity in Chicago, took part in a picnic organized by this parish and met with Bishop Piotr Turzyński – a delegate of the Polish Episcopal Conference for the Pastoral Care of Polish Emigration. The band participated in a broadcast-interview on Polish Radio Chicago. The team also made an unsuccessful attempt to reach the interior of St. Wojciech in Chicago.
